Do different plans include different features?
Almost everything is included in every plan — 324 jurisdictions, 187+ languages, and AES-256 security. The main difference is monthly volume. Starter delivers 50 credits — enough for individual practice, ~ 20 drafted documents per month. Professional offers 220 credits — ~ 90 drafted documents per month plus team collaboration and document upload (attaching files in chat & drafting, billed by exact token count). Enterprise provides 1,100 credits and API access for large firms. Compare everything in the comparison table.
Do I need to change my plan if I need more credits?
You do not need to switch plans. Purchase a One-Time Credit Pack to add credits instantly. Choose Mini ($6 for 5 credits), Standard ($12 for 14 credits), or Power ($24 for 30 credits). These apply immediately, do not alter your subscription or billing cycle, and expire 90 days after purchase.
Is there an option for intensive short-term work?
Yes. The Day Pass costs $35 and adds a fixed pool of 50 credits, valid for 24 hours. It is ideal for urgent deadlines. One active pass per 24 hours — a new pass can be purchased once the current one expires. See our Terms of Service for details.
What happens when I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Every plan change is a fresh full-price purchase of the new plan through the same secure Creem checkout — you always see the payment page and can switch cards. Your remaining credits are never lost: they are added to the full credits of your new plan (for example, 15 remaining + 220 = 235), the new billing period starts on the day of the change, and the old subscription is cancelled immediately — it never renews and is never double-billed. Downgrading works the same way: buy the lower plan, keep your remaining credits, and your new period starts today. There are no proration calculations and no automatic refunds — your paid credits stay with you.
What is your refund policy?
Because credits are never lost on a plan change — your balance and its validity are always preserved — purchases are generally non-refundable. As a goodwill exception, a purchase made by mistake can be fully refunded within 24 hours if no credits from it were used; email support@legalica.app and we will cancel it and void the credits. Top-up packs (90 days) and Day Passes (24 hours) stay valid until their own expiry regardless of any subscription change or cancellation. See Terms of Service §7 for the full policy.
Is yearly billing more cost-effective?
Features and credit volumes stay identical. Yearly billing saves real money. Starter drops from $35 to $29 per month — save 17%, or $72 per year. Professional drops from $119 to $97 per month — save 19%, or $264 per year. Enterprise drops from $499 to $389 per month — save 22%, or $1,320 per year.
Are there any hidden fees or setup costs?
No. Pricing is fully transparent. There are no setup fees and no hidden charges. All core features — including every jurisdiction and supported language — are included in every plan. You pay only for your chosen subscription or selected one-time packs, as described in our Terms of Service.
Is my data secure?
All plans use AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, and EU data residency. Your data is isolated per user and never used to train AI models. Security standards are identical across Starter, Professional, and Enterprise. Read our Privacy Policy and Security Center.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
Upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately with prorated charges; your renewal date does not change. Cancel anytime — access continues until the end of the paid period. Manage everything from your Billing Profile or contact support@legalica.app.
Do you offer discounts for nonprofits or education?
Yes. Verified nonprofit organizations, legal aid clinics, and educational institutions are eligible for discounted pricing. Contact support@legalica.app with your organization details to apply.
How long do my credits stay valid?
Subscription credits refresh with every billing period — monthly plans refresh every month, annual plans grant the full year's volume up front. One-Time Credit Packs stay valid for 90 days from purchase. The Day Pass is valid for 24 hours from activation. Full details are in our Terms of Service.
How are credits consumed?
Credits are charged per actual usage, never up front: 1 credit covers up to 8,200 tokens (your input plus the AI's answer). Simple questions typically cost 1 credit; complex research can cost more, up to 4 credits per message. Messages with attached documents (available on Professional and Enterprise plans) are charged by exact token count — a large document can cost 10–20 credits. You always see the exact charge per message in your Billing Profile — background activity such as automatic chat titles is never billed.
